Bodnant Caravan and Camping Park Disability Access Statement
Bodnant is a local farming family run site and we are available to provide any information we can, to make your stay an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
Bodnant Caravan and Camping Park is situated on the B5437 south of Llanrwst ( SH80591) and is approached from either the north, A55, junction 19 (12 miles) > A470 or from the south, the A5 (4 miles) > A470.
The park is laid out on level fields with paths of tarmac or slate around the site and up to the office. There is no wheelchair access into the reception, which is in our home.
The caravan and motorcaravan pitches are all multi-service pitches with 16amp electric, water, T.V. hook-ups and grey waste disposal. There are 20 hard-standing pitches, enclosed and laid with decorative slate and are generous enough to site the caravan, awning and a car while the remainder of the pitches are generous, numbered grass pitches. All tent pitches, which are in the furthest field from the entrance, are grass with 14 pitches having electric and T.V. hook-ups. Tent sizes are restricted to a maximum of 4x5 meters. The central track is of tarmac.
Lighting on the park is on dusk till dawn timing.
We have 2 toilet blocks. The smaller block are ladies and gents disabled wet rooms with ramp access, lever handled door, sensor lighting, sink with overhead mirror, sensor hand dryer, high level toilet with paddle handle flush and a spacious push button shower, shower chair, large wall mirror, elevated manual pull-switch heater, shaver point and ample grab rails. An emergency alarm system is in place. The larger toilet block is not suitable for a wheelchair user, as there is a step up to the main door and also a step down into the shower tray and could be difficult for a wheelchair to manoeuvre the corners. The covered, open-air dishwashing area has 2 stainless steel sinks with push taps. The small laundry area is accessed by 1step and has sinks only. Washing machines and dryers are not provided as there is a public launderette close by.
The enclosed recycling area can be accessed by wheelchair with vestibules clearly marked for different materials.
Llanrwst has an array of shops for most of your everyday needs and is situated ½ mile from the site and easily accessed down a pavemented, road with traffic controlled crossing places. Buses and trains can be easily accessed from the town. Telephone numbers for local taxi services are listed on our notice boards. Local attraction leaflets and bus and train timetables can be obtained on the site. A Tourist Information Centre is nearby at Betws-Y-Coed.
Fire Points are strategically placed around the site.
All the tap water is drinkable.
A black waste disposal area is provided with sanitised hand cleanser.
